Fire Swamp Provisions is a very small artisan bakery focusing on local, market driven breads and pastries made by hand with love and care. About the role: We are looking for two hard working, smart, self-motivated, and enthusiastic bakers to fill out our small and excellent team. TWO POSITIONS AVAILABLE: AM BAKER: 40 hours/week Monday through Friday, Start time between 3-5 AM AM Baker will work primarily with the head baker to handle a variety of production, including wholesale and retail breads, laminated pastries, scones, pie, and more. PM BAKER: 30-40 hours/week Wednesday through Saturday (4 ten hour shifts) PM Baker will work primarily with the owner to bake, finish, and pack items for markets, plus limited production.
Professional Requirements: • ServeSafe or equivalent certification (can be certified post-hire) • Minimum one year bakery experience or two years culinary experience • Minimum 1-2 years experience in a production bakery (negotiable for the right candidate) Candidate requirements: • Common sense, exceptional attitude, and willingness to check your ego at the door • Understanding of baker's math and percentages, dough fermentation and lamination • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Able to lift 50+ pounds frequently • Able to stand on one's feet throughout an entire shift • Able to work clean, fast, and with a sense of purpose • Please provide 3 professional references with both phone numbers and email addresses
