AIM Farmers Market Team Member – Customer Service, Sales & Light Food Preparation

About Peaches Patties Peaches Patties is a growing Jamaican food company bringing the vibrant flavors and spirit of Jamaica to the Bay Area through our Ferry Building location, farmers markets, catering, and special events. We're looking for dependable, energetic, and customer-focused individuals to join our Farmers Market Team! This is an active, hands-on position combining customer service, sales, food preparation, and market operations. Team members are involved in every aspect of running a successful farmers market booth, from setting up equipment to serving customers and closing down at the end of the day. Locations & Schedule: AIM Grand Lake Farmers Market – Oakland: Every Saturday, 7:15 AM – 2:30 PM AIM Stonestown Farmers Market – San Francisco: Every Other Sunday, 7:30 AM – 1:30 PM Applicants must be available for the full scheduled shift, including setup and breakdown. Key Responsibilities - Customer Service & Sales - Greet customers warmly and provide exceptional customer service. - Actively recommend and upsell Jamaican patties, meals, beverages, and sides. - Answer questions about menu items, ingredients, and specials. - Accurately process cash and electronic payments using Square POS. - Maintain a friendly, professional attitude during busy service periods. Food Preparation & Service - Bake Jamaican patties according to company standards. - Prepare and assemble Jamaican meal plates. - Follow established portion sizes, recipes, and presentation standards. - Package orders accurately and efficiently. - Maintain food safety, cleanliness, and proper food temperatures. Market Setup & Breakdown - Unload and organize market equipment and supplies. - Set up and secure tents, tables, signage, cooking equipment, and food displays. - Ensure the booth is fully operational before market opening. - Break down, clean, and properly pack all equipment at the end of the market. - Assist with loading equipment and supplies for transportation. Inventory & Operations - Monitor food and beverage inventory throughout the shift. - Track products sold, remaining inventory, and waste. - Complete opening and closing checklists. - Maintain a clean, stocked, and organized workstation. - Communicate inventory shortages, equipment issues, and customer concerns promptly.

Qualifications - Excellent customer service and communication skills. - Strong sales skills and willingness to actively upsell. - Exceptional attention to detail and order accuracy. - Experience with cash handling and point-of-sale systems. - Reliable, punctual, and comfortable working independently. - Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. - Comfortable with light cooking and food preparation. - Ability to safely lift up to 40 pounds and stand for extended periods, with or without reasonable accommodation. - Reliable transportation to assigned market locations. - Availability for early morning weekend shifts. - California Food Handler Card or willingness to obtain one within the required timeframe. - Previous food service, farmers market, or retail experience is preferred.
